Abstract
This study was based on the threshold-based volume cut method designed to measure the volume of the heart most accurately. The purpose of this study was to find out the changes in stroke volume (SV) and ejection fraction (EF) values according to the threshold change. Among the patients under the age of 15 who underwent the heart volumetric computed tomography (CT) examination in this hospital for one year from January to December 2020, 68 patients under the age of 15 were targeted. The SV and the EF according to the threshold value weight were calculated and compared through the data. The volume of the ventricle measured by applying weights from the existing threshold value became smaller as the ratio of the applied value increased from 10%. When 100% of the volume value was applied, the SV value of left ventricle calculated based on the value showed an average change of 43%, and the SV value of right ventricle showed an average change of 40.1%. EF showed a significant difference in all EF change values (EF 10% to EF 100%) in addition to the EF value obtained by the determined threshold. The setting of the threshold value that precedes the post-processing of cardiac volume CT has a great influence on the result value. As a result, diagnosis and treatment directions may vary, so it is considered that accurate segmentation criteria are needed.
